Today, we're shining the spotlight on one of Rory's Travel Club's most spirited members, Lynette, an inspiring 70-year-old from County Louth. Join us as we dive into Lynette's exciting travel adventures and discover why she believes Rory's Travel Club is the best thing she's ever done.
The Journey Begins
Lynette, a proud member since May 2022, has wasted no time exploring both Ireland and Europe. With a whopping 14 RTC trips under her belt, it's safe to say she's taken advantage of our deals. From her first Group Trip in the rolling hills of Donegal to the historic streets of Budapest, Lynette has truly embraced the wanderlust spirit - and has made plenty of friends along the way.
The Favourite Escape: Turkey
Ask Lynette about her favourite trip, and she beams with the fond memories of Turkey. Gumbet stole her heart, thanks to the magical combination of a gorgeous location and a fantastic group of 14 fellow Rory’s Travel Club members. The camaraderie was off the charts, proving that the real magic lies not just in the destination but in the company you keep.
Group Dynamics and Lifelong Friendships
For Lynette, Rory's Travel Club isn't just about ticking off places on a map; it's about forging connections. From the first nerve-wracking solo trip to Gweedore, where she hitched a ride with newfound friends, to meeting Rory himself in a Jacuzzi (yes, you read that right!), Lynette emphasizes the importance of the friendships she's made along the way.
"I met some fantastic lifelong friends. I just start by introducing myself and it all goes from there. I know names from the Whatsapp Group that is set up beforehand - so just a matter of matching names to faces. Strangers for the first few minutes then you’re connecting with newfound friends.”
Three Words: Friendly, Exciting, Fun
Summing up Rory's Travel Club in three words, Lynette chooses "Friendly, exciting, and fun." The atmosphere is electric, the adventures are exciting, and the camaraderie is downright fun and very welcoming.
Why Join Rory's Travel Club? Lynette Spells It Out
"There are loads of reasons. The more obvious ones; to make new friends and travel the world. It really is something to look forward to and a reason for getting up in the morning." She passionately advises everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or relationship status, to join and just be their authentic self. The club is welcoming, and there's no need to pretend to be anything you're not; you will find somebody to click with.
Recommendation Level: A Million Percent
When asked if she would recommend the club, Lynette doesn't hesitate: "A Million percent, I definitely do." The club, she says, is good, wholesome fun and an excellent boost for your mental health.
Bucket List for 2024: The Whole Wide World…
As for Lynette's bucket list for 2024? The entire world. It's not about where you go; it's about who you go with. Lynette emphasizes the importance of the company, recalling a memorable stay in Mayo where the companionship transformed an ordinary getaway into that next level something magical.
Lynette's Closing Thoughts
In Lynette's words, "There is no such thing as a stranger, only friends you haven't met yet" which perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Rory's Travel Club and what we set out to do. Her final piece of advice? “Don’t wait - join the club. It was the best tenner I’ve ever spent. I only wish it was created 20 years ago. I always have my next trip planned out with the club so I always have something to look forward to!”.
So, if you're on the fence about joining Rory's Travel Club, let Lynette's journey inspire you. It's not just a travel club; it's a community of friends waiting to be made and adventures waiting to be embarked upon. As Lynette says, it might just be the best thing you've ever done.
