itinerary

Day 1: Depart Dublin

Depart Dublin and travel north, collecting RTC members in Belfast before boarding the mid-morning sailing to Scotland. Free time in the seaside town of Largs, before arriving at your hotel. Free time to relax and freshen up before dinner.

Day 2: Ayrshire Coast & Culzean Castle

Embark on a journey along the Ayrshire coastline, visiting the coastal resorts of Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry. The afternoon is spent at historical Culzean Castle & its gardens. Perched on Ayrshire's cliffs with architectural grandeur by Robert Adam, this historic gem was once the home of the Kennedy family. Enjoy panoramic views, opulent interiors, and gardens designed by Sir Thomas Mawson. Uncover its wartime secrets and immerse yourself in the enchanting history of Culzean Castle, a blend of architectural elegance and natural beauty.

Day 3: Glasgow & Riverside Museum

Today's venture is Glasgow, once the beating heart of the British Empire, with its proud ship-building history. On our way to Glasgow, we pass many places where these huge shipyards once stood. In the 19th and 20th centuries, over 30,000 ships (20% of the world's shipping) were built along the River Clyde. Time free to explore Glasgow. Before returning, the entry is included in the Clyde Waterfront Riverside Museum. The 3,000-strong collection reflects the importance that Glasgow has played worldwide through its contributions to shipbuilding, train manufacturing and engineering. Explore a Victorian cobbled street and see a wide range of trains and trams. From rare vintage cars, classic motorcycles and 18th-century boats hewn from tree trunks to a diverse collection of model ships.

Day 4: Loch Lomond & The Trossachs

A magnificent day awaits. Firstly, cross the Clyde and head into Highland landscapes, stopping at the southern end of Loch Lomond, at Lomond Shores, affording some of the best views of the 21-mile loch. Continue into the Trossachs - Scotland's first National Park. A place where the Lowlands and Highlands meet, with varied scenery of rolling lowland landscapes, tranquil lochs and rugged mountain ranges. We travel through the most scenic areas, stopping in Aberfoyle, then over the Duke's Pass, driving past many a loch before descending into Callander, and then returning to Ayrshire.

Day 5 Homeward Bound

Make the short journey to Ayr, for some free time to shop and relax before travelling south to the ferry port, for the afternoon sailing to Belfast. Continue your journey to Dublin, arriving early evening.
