The plan is to do an exciting day trip to Metz, France, where you can explore its stunning Gothic cathedral and vibrant markets, and to Trier, Germany, the oldest city in the country, known for its ancient Roman ruins and cozy wine bars.


The train will cost roughly €10 return to each of these 2 cities.


With plenty of free time to explore at your own pace, this RTC trip is perfect for those looking to travel together and visit some of the lesser known Christmas markets.

Day 1: Monday, December 9th – Arrival & Exploring Luxembourg City
10:30 AM: Arrive at Luxembourg Airport 1
1:30 AM: Drop Luggage at hotel, explore area
12:30 PM: Regroup for Lunch
Afternoon: Explore central Luxembourg City & Christmas Market 
8:00 PM: Group Dinner

Day 2: Tuesday, December 10th – Day Trip to Metz, France
10:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.
11:00 AM: Train from Luxembourg City to Metz (about a 1-hour journey).
12:00 PM: Arrive in Metz. Centre Pompidou-Metz: Explore the city’s gardens and riverbanks, or do some shopping in the Christmas Market
6:00 PM: Train back to Luxembourg City.
7:00 PM: Arrive back in Luxembourg City.
8:00 PM: Group Dinner

Day 3: Wednesday, December 11th – Day Trip to Trier, Germany
10:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.
12:00 AM: Train from Luxembourg City to Trier (about a 45-minute journey).
12:45 AM: Arrive in Trier. 
Explore the Roman Ruins, or do some shopping in the Christmas 
6:00 PM: Train back to Luxembourg City.
