There are some hotels you enjoy visiting, and then there are hotels that stay with you long after you’ve checked out. For me, the beautiful Slieve Russell Hotel falls firmly into the second category. In fact, it is without a doubt one of my favourite hotels in Ireland and after my most recent stay, I’m more convinced of that than ever.
I recently experienced the Rory’s Travel Club package currently available with the hotel until the beginning of July, and if you are in need of a relaxing getaway filled with luxury, incredible food and total tranquillity, this is an offer you absolutely need to book.
The package includes:
Bed and breakfast
A four-course dinner in the Conall Cearnach Restaurant
A cocktail in the Kells Bar
A round of golf on the PGA Academy 9-hole golf course
20% off treatments in the Ciuin Spa
From the moment you arrive at the Slieve Russell Hotel, there is a sense of calm and comfort that instantly makes you switch off from the outside world. Surrounded by stunning grounds and peaceful scenery, the hotel truly encompasses everything a great hotel should offer, beautiful interiors, spacious and comfortable rooms, welcoming staff, fantastic dining experiences and endless facilities to enjoy.
Elegant Interiors & Spacious Rooms
One of the first things I noticed again during this stay was just how beautifully designed the hotel is. The interiors are elegant yet cosy, with soft neutral tones, stylish furnishings and plenty of comfortable seating areas throughout the hotel to relax and unwind.
The bedrooms are equally impressive - spacious, bright and designed with comfort in mind. The light-coloured interiors create a calm and luxurious atmosphere, while the beds are unbelievably comfortable. After a busy few weeks, this was exactly the relaxing reset I needed.
A Truly Blissful Spa Experience
The Ciuin Spa is exactly what its name suggests - peaceful, quiet and incredibly relaxing.
During my visit, I enjoyed a 60-minute full body massage, and honestly, it was pure bliss from start to finish. The treatment itself was amazing, but what really elevated the experience was the access to the hydrotherapy suite afterwards.
This felt like the height of luxury.
From the sauna and steam room to the jacuzzi, tropical showers and heated relaxation beds, every part of the spa was designed to help you completely unwind. It is the kind of place where you could easily spend hours switching off and relaxing.
If you are booking this package, I would highly recommend making the most of the 20% spa discount you won’t regret it.
Dining in the Conall Cearnach Restaurant
The highlight of the stay for me had to be dinner in the Conall Cearnach Restaurant.
I have previously dined in both the Golf Club Restaurant and the Setanta Restaurant at the Slieve Russell Hotel, and while I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences, Conall Cearnach completely exceeded my expectations.
The atmosphere was warm and elegant, the staff were incredibly attentive throughout the evening and every dish was cooked to perfection. The flavours, presentation and overall dining experience were genuinely outstanding.
Starter
We went for the pan fried Buttered King Prawn Tails and Chorizo and Sweet Pea Arancini
Main Course
For mains we both went for the Pepper Beef Blade Steak, Crispy Onions. This dish was incredible!
Dessert
We both went for the Armagh Apple, Caramel and Walnut Crumble, it was 10/10.
Not only was the food exceptional, but the restaurant itself had such a lovely atmosphere. It felt luxurious without being overly formal, making it the perfect setting for a relaxed evening meal.
Cocktails & Live Music in the Kells Bar
After dinner, we headed to the Kells Bar to enjoy the cocktail portion of the package and it was the perfect way to end the evening.
A Pornstar Martini and Gin Bramble enjoyed alongside live music on a Tuesday night created such a fun and lively atmosphere. It is another thing I love about the Slieve Russell Hotel, there is always a great buzz around the place while still maintaining that relaxing luxury feel.
Whether you want a quiet spa break or a more social getaway, the hotel caters perfectly for both.
Endless Things To Do
One of the best things about staying at the Slieve Russell Hotel is that there is so much to do. Between the stunning walking trails, beautiful grounds, swimming facilities, golf course and spa, one night genuinely does not feel like enough.
You could spend your morning exploring the scenic surroundings, your afternoon in the spa and your evening enjoying cocktails and incredible food, all without ever needing to leave the hotel grounds.
It truly is a destination in itself.
Final Thoughts
I genuinely could not recommend the Slieve Russell Hotel enough. Every time I visit, I leave already planning my next stay, and this recent experience reminded me exactly why it remains one of my favourite hotel in Ireland.
The Rory’s Travel Club package offers the perfect combination of luxury, relaxation and value, and if you have been considering booking a getaway, take this as your sign to do it.
My only advice? Book this offer now, you absolutely will not regret it.
