Snowbound: Hitting the Slopes in Bulgaria
Blog

Meet Kerrie, our lead graphic designer, who recently returned from an exhilarating week of skiing in the picturesque slopes of Borovets, Bulgaria. This marked her second ski trip, a follow-up to last year's initiation into the world of skiing. From the moment she conquered the slopes on her first trip, she knew she would be back for more.

Choosing Borovets as the destination, Kerrie and her friends opted for a full ski package that included flights, accommodation, transfers, ski equipment, ski passes, and daily four-hour ski lessons. While the initial cost may seem high, the breakdown reveals great value for money, as virtually everything, aside from food and drink, was covered. Their half-board hotel ensured they could stock up at breakfast before hitting the slopes.

The ski lessons proved invaluable in setting the tone for the day, helping everyone assess their readiness for more challenging slopes. Borovets has a diverse range of beginner and intermediate slopes, catering to groups with varying skill levels. The friendly ski instructors, always ready to answer questions, particularly benefited beginners navigating the world of skiing.

A critical lesson from Kerrie's previous experience: packing layers is essential. The mountain climate can be chilly, but skiing gets you pretty warm. Having layers allows for flexibility in finding the right balance. Kerrie's favorite addition to her ski attire was a snood, perfect for shielding her face from the biting wind, especially at higher altitudes. Additionally, packing for comfort for après-ski activities is crucial, as you end up wrecked after an intense day of skiing.

Beyond skiing, one of Kerrie's non-ski highlights was the gondola ride up Musala Mountain. The panoramic views from above the clouds offered a serene and awe-inspiring experience, showcasing the beauty of the entire region.

Already bitten by the skiing bug, Kerrie is eagerly planning dates for her next adventure. Her enthusiasm reflects the captivating allure of Borovets and the unforgettable experiences that come with a winter wonderland escape.
