Tucked away on the peaceful waters of Lough Erne in County Fermanagh, this place is like a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. My experience at Lusty Beg Island was nothing short of magical.

The boat journey over set the scene for what was to be a brilliant trip. From the moment I set foot on the island, I was captivated by its natural beauty.

After checking in we made our way to our cosy cabin, set on the top of a hill only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. A blend between rustic charm and modern comfort. It’s big windows overlooking breathtaking views of Lough Erne. And the best part - it was 16 degrees in Fermanagh, so you can just picture the blue skies and peaceful lough - like a real life oil painting.

We sat and enjoyed a drink in the outdoor seated area before our dinner reservation at 7.30pm being entertained by the jet ski’s and boats on the water. Our dining experience was fantastic, from the range of options on the menu to the service and the overall ambience. The steak and salmon were cooked to perfection!

My time at Lusty Beg Island was nothing short of magical—a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty yet there is still so much more to be explored on the island. I am already planning my next trip to the island so I can try their outdoor activities (the kayaks are calling me) and the island spa. If I could give you one piece of advice it would be to arrive on an empty stomach as you will want to try everything on the menu, I’m seriously regretting not trying their desserts!
